Blog Spotlight V.7

Sweet Fine Day has been one of my favorite blogs for as long as I can remember. It's funny because awhile ago (maybe a year or two), the author Jenna decided to take a break. At that time I also took a break from reading blogs, I cleared out my Google Reader, and somehow I didn't put it back into my feed. Fast forward to a few months ago, I stumbled upon Sweet Fine Day again and let out a little cheer when I noticed so many new posts!

Jenna's family runs a successful confectionery in Brooklyn, and between photos of their delicious looking culinary creations, their wonderful neighborhood and their adorable kids, Sweet Fine Day is such a bright spot in my daily reads.  Jenna's writing always makes me smile, and also makes me wish I lived in NYC to experience so much of the culture and wonder they're surrounded by.

Blog Spotlight V.6

 

Okay. So I feel by this point we have a little mutual trust going here, right?  When I tell you how amazing something is, you believe me, right? Because guess what? THIS BLOG I AM ABOUT TO SHOW YOU IS AMAZING. I'm not kidding. And I'm also not kidding when I saw that this is my number one, all-time favorite, best ever blog I've ever read. I know that sounds insane, but I just recently found Katie's Pencil Box a few weeks ago via a friend, and once I got around to finally checking her blog out, and after reading through all of the archives, I came to the conclusion that the author Katie and I are soul-mate friends. Not only do we both have silhouettes tattooed on our arms (I was so excited when I saw this and made Hank come running over to the computer), but we share a love for so many other wonderful things in life. Upon finishing reading her entire blog I sent her an email gushing about my love for her little corner of the internet, only to find that she was already a reader of Sometimes Sweet! OH happy day!

It's absolutely shocking to me that Katie has just a little over 150 readers. Not that numbers mean anything at all, but to me it seems like she should have a million people poring over her gorgeous photos and words. She writes about daily life, and tells her story with such ease that it almost seems like you're right there.  There is a whimsical, magical quality to everything shared on Pencil Box, and every single time I read her blog I am inspired to live life a little more fully. She gets me excited about all of the fun days to come as Henry gets older- she has a son named Max who is just the cutest thing ever- and overall you can tell what happiness she gets from being a Mama. From her gorgeous outfits to glimpses of her beautiful home, photos of her family and friends, Katie has created a little snapshot of her everyday life. It's a place of beauty, a place of whimsy, a place where the clouds are a little more blue, the grass a little greener. It's a place that makes me feel so happy, and because you can feel the love that Katie has for every single bit of her life, you start to feel that way too. Her joy is so infectious.

So that's why Pencil Box is my blog spotlight. I can't wait for all of you to experience it's wonderful-ness and become a regular reader, like me. So pop over and give her a big hello! Blog Spotlight V.5

Welcome to the 5th edition of my blog spotlight. This time around I am really, really excited to share a newer blog with you, The Veda House! The girl behind the blog, Cassie, is the sweetest thing and she puts a lot of time and creativity into her darling corner of the internet. The Veda House is a visual beauty, full of gorgeous design, inspiring photos, and chock full of tidbits that get my creative self thinking. I really enjoy reading what Cassie has to say, and I know you will too. I've recently been enjoying her Friday Finds and Favorites, and her Sunday Portraits, too. All in all The Veda House is just such a breath of fresh air. I'm very excited to see Cassie's blog grow and expand as more people discover it's amazing-ness! Blog Spotlight V.4

I have been loving spotlighting my favorite blogs, and this time I am sharing with you one of my very, very favorite blogs EVER. Earlier today the author Lindsay tweeted that she had reached 100 subscribers (so awesome!) but hearing this I was really surprised- a blog THIS good should have thousands, seriously. Eileen Josephine at first glance may seem like a mommy blog, or a crafting blog, or a lifestyle blog...but once you go through all of these little categories you realize that Eileen Josephine is actually all of the above, and so much more. Lindsay is a great writer with an eye for photography and design, and her blog reflects not only her fabulous creativity but the deep love she has for her family. Anytime I visit her blog I leave with a renewed sense of inspiration and a bit more beauty in my life.

I highly recommend you all go check out Lindsay's corner of the internet! I promise you won't be disappointed. Happy browsing!

Blog Spotlight V.3

So far I've highlighted two of my favorite blogs and today I share with you a third daily read of mine, a newer one, but no less loved!  Maria's blog, Little Tree Vintage, is an adorable little corner of the internet. From her "things I love" posts (they make me want to scoop up all of her great finds) to her great photos, I really, really enjoy reading her blog. Most recently I've loved learning about her backpacking trip to Spain, and I adored her Valentine's Day gift round up. Blog Spotlight V.2

Hi everyone, welcome to my second installment of my blog spotlight feature.  You can check out my very first spotlight Megan, by clicking here.

This week though I would love to share a very special person's blog with all of you. Some of you may already follow Boho Baby Bump, but if you don't, I recommend her blog to you with all of my heart!  Jessica Gatlyn is one of those writers where you can just feel the love emanating from the computer screen and through her writing you really get a sense of what a wonderful person she is.  Her blog is full of her day to day life as a stay-at-home Mom, living in nature with her adorable family.  Jess is extremely "real," and she writes about her life with wit, candor, and heart.  Every time I open my Reader and see a new post from Boho Baby my heart does a happy little leap in my chest, because I know I will have something really wonderful to enjoy.  She just started a new feature- "Before Bump Journeys,"where she shares some of her pre-baby traveling adventures with the blogosphere. This past week she posted about her fourth (!!) trip to Israel and it was extremely fascinating. Each of her posts are full of sincerity, and it's one of those "baby blogs" that everyone can enjoy, not just other moms or those on the track to have children.  Jess posts provoking thoughts, beautiful photos, and fun videos, and I'm just so happy to share her with all of you!

Blog Spotlight V.1

This is a new feature I'll be doing in the new year, and I thought I would give it a little jump start today!  Every couple of weeks I will be featuring one of my favorite blogs- I'll be telling you about them, what I love about them, and linking you of course, so you can hopefully check them out too!  I follow a LOT of really amazing blogs, both with huge followings and also some that are just starting out.  I think it's super important to kind of "share the love" in the blogging community, and support each others' efforts rather than be negative.  So with that said, I'm excited to promote some of the lovely women I know, not because they're sponsoring me, or vice versa, but because I genuinely love what they create and want to shout it to the rooftops.

 

The very first blog I'm excited to talk about, is the internet home of one of the loveliest women I know via the computer.  We've been friends online for some time now, and she's always been the sweetest thing; kind, caring and passionate about life.  Over the years I've always absolutely loved reading her blog and I always enjoy all of the things she posts about.  This darling lady's name is Megan and you can find her via her Tumblr- http://meganislove.tumblr.com.  I actually featured her on a previous Tattoo Tuesday post too.  If you don't read her blog I definitely suggest you head over her way and say hello!  She posts a lot of inspirational things, from food to family, and a little birdie told me (okay, she posted about it yesterday), that in the new year she will be turning her Tumblr into a fully functioning blog!  Awesome.  So if you're looking for a new blog to read, one that will inspire you to eat healthier, love deeper, and have more fun...one full of beautiful photos capturing the life of a little family and their daily world, then hop, skip, and jump right over and say hello to my friend Megan!
