Mama & Baby Style

This morning my little family and I went to brunch, and I got a chance to wear one of my new Modcloth dresses.  When this one arrived in the mail I was ecstatic- I just adore the print and I think the lace is such a nice touch.  I also really love the fit- it's just the right length and I know I'll get a lot of use out of it by either dressing it up, or dressing it down. Today I chose to do the simple route, and paired it with a brown belt and oxfords. Henry was not into taking photos at all, so we just snapped one or two and called it a day. So today is more of a "Mama & (not into it) Baby Style." Oh, Henry!

"Blurring By" dress: c/o Modcloth

Mama & Baby Style

Hello and happiest Wednesday to all of you!  This is my second post-baby style post, and I'd really like to thank each of you for all your kind words on our first venture. You are all so sweet and made my day with all your nice comments. Thank you (from Henry and me).

Mama is wearing:

green and white striped dress: Forever 21
gold initial "D" necklace: Anthropologie
Gimmik platforms: c/o Blowfish

Baby is wearing:

striped long sleeved tee: c/o Tea Collection
brown shorts: Target
shoes: Vans

I should also add that I am wearing the loveliest perfume, c/o Kaboodle and Fresh. It's the roller ball scent from the Mother's Day Sugar Delight Gift Set and I'm so in love with it. I've used Fresh products before, but this may just be my favorite scent so far (with the lemon a close second).

This outfit was something I wore out to dinner, and I just wanted to make note that this is not a breast-feeding friendly outfit. I get a lot of questions about how I am able to feed Henry in a lot of the dresses you see me in, and to answer, I don't! I typically only wear those dresses when we'll be out for a few hours and I know I won't have to feed him until we get home. If we'll be out all day and I'll need to feed him while we're out, I'm sure to wear more bf-ing appropriate clothing. I'll try and incorporate some of those outfits into upcoming posts, too!

But for now, here's me, squinting in the sun, in one of my favorite, non-breastfeeding-friendly dresses, perfect for a quick dinner out with my boys! ;)

Mama & Baby Style (first ever!)

Once upon a time, I used to do outfit posts and I really enjoyed them.  Then, I got pregnant. I think this blog didn't see a true full body photograph of me for some time, as I got used to my changing body. Now that I'm back to feeling like myself (still a little ways to go, but I'm happy), I am looking forward to getting back into sharing outfits on my blog a lot more frequently. I also thought it would be great to share what Henry is wearing too, so other mothers and mothers-to-be of boys can see that the little guys can be cute too! I see a LOT of mama/baby style posts around the internet and the blogosphere, but most are with mommies and daughters, and I'm excited to represent mamas of boys! I also have to credit my number one inspiration- the mother of all mama style posts, my darling friend James. I'm definitely excited to start branching out a bit, experimenting with my style, and find fun places to shoot.  Prescott is chock full of beautiful locations and interesting spots, so it will be neat to show off a bit more of our little town too every once and awhile. Yesterday we originally planned to head downtown, but it started to drizzle so we opted to stay home and keep Henry out of the rain. This is the first of many mama/baby style posts and I'm so excited to start this new endeavor. Whenever possible I'll try to link the clothing items, too.  Also: a big thank you to my sweet friend and photoshop whiz Chelsey for making my see-through shirt to be not so see-through!
